about

I wrote this song after a long car ride in the spring. I saw a huge field of dandelions. It brought back memories of when I was a kid. I remember I used to “make a wish” on them and my dad got mad because he didn’t want the weed to spread throughout his lawn. In the song, dandelions are a metaphor for people that don’t fit the social norm. It is meant to be an anthem to spread your uniqueness to others in an inspiring way. Then others might be comfortable with who they are too.

lyrics

I look out my car window
And see a field of yellow

A diseased beauty they grow
Wishes carry on as the wind blows

Dandelions you’re my friend indeed
Now walk with me

Dandelions you’re my friend indeed
Now walk with me
Dandelions

I see a lonely weed just standing there
Spreading by its own seed

Dandelions you’re my friend indeed
Now walk with me

Dandelions you’re my friend indeed
Now walk with me, Dandelions

Dandelions, Oh oh oh oh oh
Be who you’re meant to be

Be who you’re meant to be

Dandelions you’re my friend indeed
Now walk with me

Dandelions you’re my friend indeed
Now walk with me
Dandelions
