about
My bassist, producer & co-writer for the song Tylr Tesla came to me with an intriguing main guitar riff and listening to it made me think of a long, relaxing car trip -- looking out and seeing the afternoon sun shine through the trees lining the road, resembling a strobe light as you move past. Writing the song provoked a pleasant memory, filling me with a calm, peaceful feeling from past adventures. After getting that lyrical vision & melody down, Tylr began producing the rest of the song. We added my guitarist Jason Marr to layer a guitar part over it & fleshed it out with our mixing engineer, Curt Micol. I felt honored to have the Grammy-winning Mastering Engineer, Steve Fallone complete the project. Some of his largest works have been with (Kacey Musgraves, The National, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Hozier, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Bob Dylan, Tony Bennett).
lyrics
I’ll find a way
To where we used to go
Where we used to roam
And the light shined through the trees like
Strobe lights
Through the trees
Strobe lights
Through the trees
To where we used to go
To where we used to roam
Strobe lights
I don’t feel time, whenever I am here, everything is clear
Drown away my fears, lights thru the mirror
Yeah, I’m at rest, in the silence, between each breath
I am peace, as we lay here, underneath the sky
The stars are mine, in the middle of july
Yeah, I’m at rest, in the silence, between each breath
Strobe lights
Through the trees
Strobe lights
Through the trees
To where we used to go
I’ll find a way
To where we used to go
Where we used to roam
And the light shined through the trees like
